Charleton Golf Club
Designed by John Salvesen and opened in 1994 by former US president George Bush Senior, Charleton is set in undulating parkland with mature trees and many more new specimen trees. The location is sheltered from the north with spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, Bass Rock and Lothian coast makes this course a genuine course for all seasons.
The Charleton course is a forgiving experience with wide fairways in parts yet presents a stern test of golf from the white tees for the low handicapper. The Greens are great targets, but their undulations make holing out a greater challenge than you might expect. It is laid out in two loops beginning and ending at the Clubhouse, and presents a good variety of holes in length, par and character.
The Club also offers a full grass practice tee and practice area plus a 9-hole course specifically designed for beginners or even for a warm up.
The clubhouse offers a friendly atmosphere with all the facilities that today’s golfer expects. With the views over the Bass Rock and Firth of Forth it’s the perfect place to enjoy lunch after a long round of golf.
