Aberdour Hotel
The Aberdour Hotel is a friendly, family-run hotel situated in one of the most picturesque coastal villages in Fife.
In the days before railways and the motor car the Aberdour hotel was a staging-post for horse-drawn coaches and so has a courtyard and stable block. The courtyard is now the car park and the stable block has been converted into five bedrooms, two of which are at ground level.
Being close to the home of golf - St. Andrews is only 35 miles away - golf courses are plentiful. There are 100 courses within about an hours drive of the village. A list of these can be obtained on request. The area has all types of courses to suit all standards of golfers.
Many of our regulars are enthusiastic golfers themselves and local course knowledge is readily available over a dram or two in our friendly bar, where the coal fire in the winter is much appreciated, especially after a brisk 18 holes!
Guests wishing to take the opportunity of visiting our Capital will find this easily achieved. Edinburgh is only 30 minutes away from the hotel by car or rail. The station is a two-minute walk from the hotel itself and there is a regular service which takes you straight into the centre of the city.
Aberdour is also on the Fife Coastal Path so there are some very pleasant walks within easy reach of the hotel.
The hotel has its own popular restaurant specialising in fresh, locally supplied Scottish produce where possible. Our Head Chef, Roy Simpson, has big plans to increase the pleasure of your stay with a high quality dining experience. There is a 'Daily Specials Board' along with our new menu offering items such as, Lobster (caught locally), Venison, Monkfish, Scallops, Mussels etc. Vegetarians are catered for and also those with special dietary requirements (advance notice of this is required).
A new wine list is in place. Most of our wines are available by small or large glass as well as by the bottle. We have Real Ale on tap and are once again included in this years "Camra" Good Beer Guide.
