Charleton Golf Club

Designed by John Salvesen and opened in 1994 by former US president George Bush Senior, Charleton is set in undulating parkland with mature trees and many more new specimen trees. The location is sheltered from the north with spectacular views over the Firth of Forth, Bass Rock and Lothian coast makes this course a genuine course for all seasons.

The Charleton course is a forgiving experience with wide fairways in parts yet presents a stern test of golf from the white tees for the low handicapper. The Greens are great targets, but their undulations make holing out a greater challenge than you might expect. It is laid out in two loops beginning and ending at the Clubhouse, and presents a good variety of holes in length, par and character.

The Club also offers a full grass practice tee and practice area plus a 9-hole course specifically designed for beginners or even for a warm up.

The clubhouse offers a friendly atmosphere with all the facilities that today’s golfer expects. With the views over the Bass Rock and Firth of Forth it’s the perfect place to enjoy lunch after a long round of golf.

Special Offers

Junior and Senior rates are in operation Monday to Friday @ £16, unfortunately there is no concessionary rates at the weekend.

We have 8 ride on buggies avaialble to hire for £20 per round, however we do not reserve them in advance unless there is medical reasons and you would not be able to go around the course without the use of a buggy.

Pull along carts are also available to hire at £3.

Charleton has all the facilities that today’s golfer expects. We have a practice putting green and grass tee driving range to get every golfer warmed up before their round, along with our 9 hole par 3 course which is great for all golfers no matter what their ability.

The clubhouse has changing facilities with showers, along with a small pro shop just in case you have forgotten some golfers essentials, such as tees, golf balls or golf gloves.

To give you a helping hand around the course we also hire ride on buggies and pull along golf carts.

After a hard round the clubhouse is the perfect place to relax and have a bite to eat as you discuss all the ups and downs of your round. Food is served from dusk till dawn, so our chef is sure to satisfy your taste buds with breakfast, lunch, dinner or even just a pie and a pint.
