Kinross Golf Courses - The Montgomery
The Bruce course at Kinross is one of two fine 18 hole parkland courses open to golfers visiting Fife and Perthshire. The two Kinross Golf Courses are managed in conjunction with the Green and Windlestrae hotels and are ideally located in Central Scotland within easy distance of Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews.
Although positioned as the junior of the two courses at Kinross and perhaps the slightly gentler challenge, The Bruce remains a thoroughly
enjoyable test of golf - indeed many members and visitors prefer playing it. There are few course where par for the opening nine holes is 39, including a sequence of four par 5s in the space of six holes - punctuated by the infamous pond hole (6th).

FREE JUNIOR GOLF
As a promotion during 2010 to try and encourage more juniors to play golf at Kinross, we will allow boys and girls aged 18 and under to play free of charge when accompanied by an adult who has paid the standard visitor green fee. This promotion is limited to up to 3 juniors per adult per round and the juniors must play in the same group as the adult.
HOLE - IN - ONE
Any golfer achieving a Hole in One at any hole on either The Montgomery or The Bruce will be sent a beautiful engraved pint glass tankard recording details of their achievement. Obviously, the hole-in-one needs to be witnessed by a playing partner!
To receive your glass tankard, please complete and submit the appropriate form which can be obtained from the Pro Shop. Details of your Hole-in-One will also be recorded for posterity in our Hall of Fame on the http://www.golfkinross.com website
THE MONTGOMERY CHALLENGE
So confident are we that The Montgomery’s revised layout provides a great test of golf that we are throwing down the following challenge:
Break 80 (gross) on The Montgomery and we will give you your next round at Kinross free of charge! If you manage it, and your usual club handicap is 10 or greater, we will extend the complimentary ticket to include a friend!
OK, we will probably have to restrict individual golfers to only being able to claim this prize twice in any calendar year but the gauntlet is down!
Facilities
Recently refurbished changing facilities for visitors are available in the clubhouse where there are also catering facilities and a bar.
Dress Code
Most Golf Clubs have a lisit of items of apparel that should not be worn on the course or in the clubhouse. These lists are usually the product of fuddy duddy committees whose views on sartorial elegance date from the Middle Ages. Fashions are always changing and we would prefer to leave it up to visiting golfers as to what, and what not, to wear against a basic standard of smart casual.
